BORDERS SCULPTORS
Aims of the group:
1.
To
bring artists together to help combat feelings of isolation in this area of
dispersed population. To give members an opportunity to meet, talk, exchange
ideas and information.
2.
Membership
is open to practising sculptors and to anybody with an interest in sculpture
that feels they can get something out of joining or give something to the
group.
3.
To
raise the profile of sculptors in the Borders and beyond; and to widen the
audience for sculpture.
4.
To
act as an umbrella organisation and pressure group, which will facilitate
members in organising projects and exhibitions for themselves. (It is not the
role of Borders Sculptors to organise exhibitions for the members.)
5.
To
find and encourage new venues for sculpture in the Borders and beyond.
6.
To
be a contact group for commissioning bodies and individuals, and to create a
database for that purpose.
7.
To
pool information on opportunities, materials, tools and suppliers.
8.
To
make and maintain contact with other like minded organisations.
9.
To
organise visits to venues of interest to the group, and to hold group events,
walks, creative participations, studio visits and informal gatherings.
