Artist's Statement: My work explores the interface between science and art investigating natural forms - tectonic plates and glacial action. I also research graptolite fossils, alpine plants and more recently plant pollen. The use of the electron microscope is an important part of the process. It is the interplay between the visible and invisible that intrigues me and the space that exists between.

My paintings are textured and stained canvasses, scraped at and poured onto to give a feeling of layers in time, movement, change and variation. The process is organic in nature and is a response to what is there on the canvas - the possibility of change
