.....................................

With a background in art history, Rachael spent five years in art administration before returning to the studio. Since 1994 she has been working mainly with metal, first wire, more recently steel, more particularly industrial and agricultural scrap. She is exhibiting more and more regularly in the Borders and has undertaken a number of commissions, including the large "Roaring Stag" for the Reediehill Deer Farm in Auchtermuchty, Fife. Her latest work demonstrates how redundant machine parts can metamorphose into fluid, often dynamic and always quixotic, birds and beasts.

The links above show the work she did in Wooplaw Community wood as an artist in residence last Summer.
