The countryside is always changing. Several wind farms already exist within sight of the SUW and more are planned. Some may object to wind turbines like the one on the merk design as unnatural intrusions in the countryside. However, the countryside itself has, for thousands of years, been shaped by people's activities. Making electricity from wind is a very sound way of utilising a free and renewable energy source. Modern turbines are silent and many people find their simple white forms elegant, or even beautiful.
